The present article examines the role of the identity of the Islamic Republic of Iran in relations with the United States between 1979 and 2021. Accordingly, the main question is: What effect did the identity of the Islamic Republic of Iran have on relations with the United States of America between 1979 and 2021? The temporary answer to the question of the present article, which has been done by descriptive-analytical method, is: The revolutionary-Islamic identity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its increasingly anti-unilateralist and domineering role, has been in opposition to the interests of the United States of America, which has led to the termination of relations between the two countries between 1979 and 2021. Iran-US relations include the institutionalized structure of conflict in the relations between two political units, which on the one hand is rooted in the nature and type of their political system, and on the other hand is rooted in internal, regional and international causes and factors. In fact, what prevented the establishment of normal relations between the parties is not at the level of discourse or behavior, but due to the confrontational identity of Iran and the United States.

The United States is one of the countries with a strong emphasis on foreign aid strategy in foreign policy. This strategy has continued with ups and downs since World War II and has spanned many countries. A review of US aid to Pakistan shows that the country has experienced many ups and downs in the past decades based on geopolitical relations and necessities. This article seeks to answer the question of "what are the motives and goals of the United States in providing foreign assistance in the field of international relations, and specifically in Pakistan?" Based on this hypothesis, the paper examines that the United States pursues several goals in providing foreign aid that are intended to stabilize American hegemony. The research findings show that foreign aid is being used as a realistic lever to increase US power and influence, helping to establish US hegemony. As for Pakistan, although reducing its aid does not seem to stop Pakistan from pursuing its high-risk policies in support of terrorist groups, the US approach is pushing to avoid this policy.

Terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, tackled security system of the U.S. and entered the country into long term and costly wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Then global financial crises in 2008, led U.S. into an unprecedented stagnation. U.S. critical economy was placed in more vulnerable position than before. On the other hand China's place in the global economy was promoted and trans-regional influence of the country was developed in these years. This article tries to answer the question that what impact has the china's power seeking in international political economy on the hegemony of the United States, by applying the theory of power displacement and with focus on Power transitions theories. The authors conclude that china's growing power intensified the decline of financial hegemony of United States, but has no significant effect on its political and security power and the United States’ weakness is much related to its macroeconomics.
